2018年9月17日下午4点，“棠外模拟联合国”招新在第三学术报告厅顺利进行。高一逾50名同学参与面试，所有报名选手将进行自我介绍，并对学术议题阐述观点。评委针对 quality of argument (论述才能)，clarity and confidence (台风), overall presentation (整体呈现) 等方面对选手们做出评估，最终择优录取。

　　本次面试的会场安排，面试流程计划及试题准备都是由我校高二模联秘书处协作筹划的，这个准备过程体现了模联学生负责人的团队协作能力和随机应变能力。

　　在座的同学以小组的形式围桌而坐，面试以选手们自我介绍切入。面试主题囊括了从国际政治（当下国际间的热点外交关系）、社会（滴滴顺风车案件，龙哥事件）网络监管问题到特殊人群权益保护等实事热题。10分钟的时间，选手们积极陈述自己的观点，逻辑清晰地与面试官进行辩论。

　　经过严谨的计算和排名，根据面试情况选出本学期“模联社团”37名优秀学生。希望新加入模联的优秀学生，在这个新奇而美好天地里纵情展现他们的全球视野，英语本色。

　　Model United Nations, popularly referred to as MUN, is an academic simulation of the United Nations & its various organs. In this creative simulation, participants take up the role of international diplomats & ambassadors of countries in various UN bodies and committees to debate current issues on the Organization’s agenda.

　　While playing their roles as ambassadors, student”delegates” make speeches, prepare draft resolutions, negotiate with allies and adversaries, resolve conflicts and negative the MUN conference rule of procedure- all in the interest of mobilizing international cooperation to resolve problems that affect countries all over the world.
